Newly proposed developments in North West and South West of Sydney will wipe out a third of Sydney’s farms when in the next 20 – 30 years our population will only increase by one fifth. During this time Sydney is expected to have between 200,000 & 350,000 more homes. Over the past 20 years farming in Sydney has declined by 50%. Farmers in Sydney already have to battle droughts, floods and the harsh climate, now on top of that their land is disappearing too. The problem isn’t the new housing but its location. Sydney needs new homes but don’t take away our veggies.
