I live in Islington, which is a suburb of Newcastle, about two hours north of Sydney. We've got a really diverse and interesting community and some great places to hang out. Islington Park is a popular meeting place; it hugs the banks of Throsby Creek, which feeds into the Hunter River and Newcastle Harbour. I'm part of a group of residents that has formed to engage the Islington community in positive initiatives to celebrate our suburb.
