The 3-Council Reduce Your Footprint program is the result of a collaboration between Randwick, Waverley and Woollahra Councils and their communities, to work together to help reduce the community-wide Ecological Footprint of residents living in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs. This partnership was supported by the New South Wales Government through its Environmental Trust.

The Eastern Suburbs of Sydney, comprising the three Local Government Areas of Waverley, Woollahra and Randwick, represent a number of iconic urban recreational, culturally diverse and environmentally sensitive opportunities managed within a high density population demographic of almost 240,000 residents.

The Ecological Footprint represents the amount of land and resources consumed by our communities to satisfy the needs of our modern lifestyle. If the world’s population used resources at the same rate as Sydneysiders, conservative estimates place the current Ecological Footprint as the equivalent of requiring 3 to 4 planets of resources each year.

Our website presents inspiration, ideas and the unique opportunity to share your experience, tips and advice with others on living sustainably.
