#81 Neighbourhood Centre Outdoor Office

I work from home and as a way of getting out, I decided to move my office to the Neighbourhood Centre.

So i took my laptop and trotted down to the Centre and set myself up on the public tables and chairs in the yard.

This was great for my head and was fun too as people stop and chat once you become a regular feature.

Recently a friend of mine who also works from home has started doing the same.

It's certainly building community and breaking the isolation!

Hi Vaike, I've been doing this in Kirribilli, which has a great village feel anyway, but by working in public you really get a chance to connect with the community.

This sounds so relaxed. Sounds like you can integrate your business/work with the flow of the community. My partner runs his consultancy from his laptop and mobile phone. He does a great deal of work in libraries where there is wifi. Are others joining you? Do you have a local work cluster happening? A similar but quite different idea is this: http://workatjelly.com/

A local work cluster sounds like fun! And jelly sounds good too.

I've asked the other fellow I was doing this to comment as he is very active!
