Helping our community make sustainable transport choices is a key objective of Leichhardt Council. We're always trying hard to make sure that our residents can access public and active transport options, and we're currently developing an integrated transport plan to map out the future of movement in the area.

We're also aware of the need to keep residents informed about their choices, and about how sectors like transport are changing and evolving as we move towards a more sustainable future.

Connections: Sustainable transport now and tomorrow will explore the challenges facing movement in Sydney as the city moves towards a more sustainable future. Dr Michelle Zeibots, from the Institute of Sustainable Futures at the UTS, will explore the challenges and opportunities facing the transport sector in our local area. Bernie Hobbs, from the ABC's New Inventors program, will join us to talk about exciting developments in transport technology (including her own electric car!), as well as looking into some of the barriers to uptake of new and emerging technologies in Australia.
