#151 Living local, two hours a week

This week, I'm going to spend two hours living local. I'll do two things that will improve the environment and my community.

How I'll spend my two live local hours

  1. I will attend the Live Futures 2020 Festival on August 15 (this Saturday!) to check out Natalie's InsideOut seedling experiment and take home a plant to nurture and blog about.

  2. I'm going to join a local community group to start chatting to people who live in my area.

How I Actually Spent my Two Hours

I met my neighbour, Tim! He moved in month ago with his wife, and the impetus for actually meeting after all this time was a delivery he was expecting that ended up at my house. We had a long friendly chat and I found out what he does, where he was from, how he liked living in my suburb and we shared our thoughts. It was such a nice (and normal) experience and I'd love to chat again.

Didn't quite make it to the LiveFutures 2020 day, but Natalie has saved me a seedling which I'm excited about planting soon.

On the upside, my new flatmate moved in over the weekend and brough with him a compost bin for the backyard and grand plans to turn our scraggly, weedy garden into a veggie patch!! A pretty successful week on the live local front.

Fabulous! Look forward to seeing you :-) we will have native seedlings as well as organic herb/beetroot/tomato++ seeds (and hopefully organic seedlings ... been a lil hard to track down but might have some just in time).
