#133 Becoming better acquainted with neighbours
It's a silly thing, that we can be satisfied, merely waving to our neigbours.
Whilst raking fallen oak leaves to add to our sour compost, I had the opportunity to go the extra distance and say hello to one of our elder neighbours.
Her husband recently passed away, and I believe she was relieved to know us a little better. My daughter asked after her chooks, which made their way into our garden some months ago.
In all, it was a delightful experience. Had I known earlier just how enriching, I would have altered my wave; beckoning the couple over to the fence to meet face to face.
A simple thing. So easy to put off. So easy to do.

This reminds me of Gareth's experiment #96 - Granny's soup - help meet the neighbours.

Gareth has started a weekly dinner night to share with his neighbours - inviting them all over for dinner and a catch-up!
