#111 A Smile Doesn't Cost A Thing

I'm going to say g'day to people when I'm walking around in the city

g'day to Vivian

This is Vivian at the garden shop earlier today.  I said "g'day" to her, explained about Live Local and she helped me to pick some new plants for my garden.

I recognise Vivian from the local nursery. She is so helpful & knowledgable about plants, it would be great if she had a regular column giving green gardeners advice.

I met an interesting man in Sydney's QVB the other day who on a daily basis would hold a sign with a different arbitrary word depending on the day whilst dancing to club music. Upon inquiring on this strange amusing behaviour he told me that it was a social experiment to observe people's reactions in an urban environment due to the confronting and diverse nature of his endeavor. This interested me and encouraged me to research the deterioration of social interaction in the inner city and further led me to consider this for my Year 12 HSC design course. Any feedback as to other social experiments would be greatly appreciated and yes I have read all others on the site!!! Very exciting!!!

P.S. A smile, hug or a bit of singing brightens up a strangers day as I know it does mine!! My friends and I frequent Newtown and other areas jamming on guitars to various cheerful songs i.e. All you need is love by the Beatles and it is interesting to see people's reactions when you are doing this purely for enjoyment and not for money! SING ALONG!
