Scrumping in style
Many experiments here quite rightly extol the virtues of growing and finding fruit and vegetables in the public domain, and so we're delighted to see one of our social scientists, Gareth Johnston, getting down to some scrumping in the pages of The (Sydney) Magazine.
Johnston, whose skills in scrumping (that's liberating fruit from publicly accessible trees, of course) are matched by his sartorial know-how, notes that Woollahra is a great spot to find low-hanging fruit. The article plugs live local, bartering/alternative trading systems and transition towns.
If you want to grab a copy (perhaps to have your own pin-up of Gareth, complete with spiffy hat), it's issue #77, September.
